Although most of our casualties are easily treated and cared for, there are occasions when expert help is required. Our vets provide an excellent service and always do their utmost to ensure injured hedgehogs receive the treatment necessary for them to make a full recovery and speedy return to the wild. A special thanks to our usual vet, Melanie Turban who has developed the knack of uncurling injured hogs to allow a full and proper examination before administering appropriate medical treatment. A number of hedgehogs have made remarkable recoveries after treatment at the centre, having been found with very serious injuries and little hope of recovery. Thank you and well done to the team at the Carmel Veterinary Centre.
'Sunny' was treated by Carmels for enteritis and made a full recovery.
